Webinar ATCE

Centre accreditation of training programme in clinical embryology (ATCE)

ESHRE Webinar

organised by the Steering Committee for Centre accreditation for training programme in clinical embryology

Webinar description

For Clinical Embryology, aspiring trainees often find themselves in a situation where there is no »formal« training to work in healthcare institutions. At best, they may have passed the ESHRE certification examination in Clinical Embryology. This at least provides evidence that they have submitted a logbook to show that they have completed a minimum number of basic embryology tasks and achieved a threshold level of theoretical knowledge.

However, if we compare this to healthcare professionals from alternative disciplines, they commonly have practical training provided in designated healthcare institutions, where accredited training programmes are in place. Such training includes approved logbooks and qualified trainers, and evidence of their training and skills is acquired via official routes, with provision of formal qualifiications.

Topics include:

  • Training of embryologists in line with the principles of training other healthcare professionals
  • How to apply to become an ESHRE training centre
  • How a centre will be assessed for its suitability for accreditation
  • The resulting qualification for Clinical Embryologists following ESHRE/EBCOG principles

Target audience

Embryologists, ART technicians, researchers, clinicians and other personnel involved in reproductive medicine and ART

Expected educational outcomes

This webinar shows how you can now seek to have your MAR centre accredited as a formal ESHRE training facility for Clinical Embryologists and how those trainees embryologists can achieve an official diploma of their practical skills.
