ESHRE Webinar: Istanbul Consensus

The Istanbul Consensus update: a revised ESHRE/ALPHA consensus

ESHRE Webinar

organised by the ESHRE Special Interest Group Embryology

Type

Advanced

Learning objectives

Participants will gain an understanding of the updates to the ESHRE/ALPHA consensus on oocyte and embryo static and dynamic morphological assessment.

Course description

In 2011, the Istanbul Consensus was published by a panel of experts to define common terminology and standardise laboratory practices related to embryo morphology assessment, aiming to promote more effective comparisons of treatment outcomes. However, over the years, new findings and updated information related to embryonic development have emerged, making it essential to revise the ESHRE/ALPHA consensus published in 2011. The updated paper will be published in 2025 and this webinar will offer an opportunity for those interested to learn about the key changes in this revised version.

Target audience

Embryologists, ART technicians, researchers, clinicians and other personnel involved in reproductive medicine and ART

Needs assessment

The Istanbul Consensus is one of the most important documents in our laboratory activity. It is not only necessary to revisit the principles of this document, but it is also essential to raise awareness about the updated version and highlight what is new.

Expected educational outcomes

Participants will be familiar with the updated version of the Istanbul Consensus and the key differences in this new document.
