Course description
This course is focused on oocyte biology and developmental competence in all IVF scenarios, and on new discoveries in fertilization and pronuclei formation. International experts will outline the latest evidence from the beginning of oocyte formation to the first steps of embryo development. The workshop will also include an assessment of the technology available to evaluate oocytes and zygotes as well as techniques like IVM, vitrification, polar body biopsy and those for optimising fertilisation.
Target audience
Embryologists, andrologists, clinicians, nurses, ART technicians, researchers and other personnel involved in reproductive medicine and ART.
Educational needs and expected educational outcomes
Participants will gain basic scientific knowledge of oocyte and pronuclei formation; appreciate the challenges faced daily by embryologists; and will enhance their understanding of embryo development and the limitations of assisted reproduction in the context of the oocyte and zygote.
Participants will have the opportunity to acquire the latest insights into challenges in oocyte metabolism and evaluation. They will also gain understanding of the limitations of AI, time-lapse imaging, in vitro maturation, pronuclear transfer, vitrification and oocyte biopsy.
Innovative aspects of the course
At the end of this course, participants can expect to make better-informed decisions about the new techniques available for the IVF laboratory and how to approach oocyte and zygote management. They will have the opportunity to learn about the latest research from experts and gain a deeper comprehension of what to expect from oocyte and zygote assessment.
