Course description
The course aims to emphasise the benefits of reproductive specialists and gynaecological surgeons working together to optimise fertility preservation, especially in managing benign diseases.
Target audience
Physicians involved in fertility preservation, gynaecologists, reproductive specialists and surgeons.
Educational needs and expected educational outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will be able to discuss the indications for fertility preservation in non-oncological settings; recognise the difference between fertility preservation strategies for cancers and those for benign disease; and know which fertility-sparing technique is best for each indication. They will also know how to enhance the management of fertility preservation for patients with endometriosis, and recognise why close collaboration between surgeons and reproductive specialists in fertility preservation is important.
Innovative aspects of the course
The management of infertility risks in benign conditions requires careful attention. This is to ensure an optimal benefit through appropriate strategies, including close collaboration between surgeons and reproductive specialists. In many cases, there are no standardised recommendations including for common conditions like endometriosis. This course will highlight the advantages of collaboration between these two fields.
