Course description

Reproductive medicine is a rapidly evolving field, in which we are treating patients who increasingly differ in background characteristics, such as male couples, and conditions, such as adlolescents with cancer. The evolutions in our field result in the need for new health care programs such as for uterus transplantation and surrogacy. Listening to the experimental knowledge of for example transgender patients can help us to improve our health care. The changes in reproductive medicine also result in the need for reflection on the implications of, for example, donor registries and genetic carrier screening. This Precongress Course, will help nurses and midwives to care for new patient populations, with new health care programs and will triggers attention for patient experiences and reflection on the societal implications of health care decisions.
