Course description
Ultrasound is essential in the management and treatment of women with gynaecological problems and for patients who struggle to conceive. This extensive, hands-on course will cover the full range of applications for this imaging technique in the context of ART and early pregnancy with special focus on endometriosis.
Target audience
Trainees and consultants in obstetrics and gynaecology; gynaecologists, radiologists, and allied health professionals with an interest in gynaecological imaging; ultrasound practitioners, nurses, midwives, staff doctors, and associate specialists.
Educational needs and expected educational outcomes
The course covers routine and advanced ultrasound procedures in ART. It provides an opportunity for face-to-face training and education using a wide variety of simulators and phantoms. National societies do not often offer hands-on teaching specifically on these topics. The workshop will provide an overview on standardised practice in interventional ultrasound. A summary of the latest ESHRE good practice recommendations on ultrasound investigations will also be provided. The hands-on part will be available on site only, and will include entry and exit level tests of proficiency.
Innovative aspects
The blended approach to training is not routinely offered for gynaecologists and midwives in the field of ART.
