Course description

The endometrium plays a crucial role in IVF success. This campus course will provide a critical appraisal of this anatomical entity and its association with ART. The focus will be on the controversy surrounding anatomical, immunological and endocrinological aspects of the endometrium and their impact on successful embryo implantations. By evaluating the existing literature, the course will provide answers to clinically important issues.

 

Target audience

Physicians and scientists in reproductive medicine, reproductive endocrinologists, fertility specialists, gynaecologists, minimally invasive surgeons, and embryologists.

 

Educational needs and expected educational outcomes

This course is expected to enhance the understanding of endometrial physiology, endometrial receptivity, anatomical abnormalities, and their impact on the outcome of ART.
This course is expected to improve the knowledge concerning endometrial receptivity, factors affecting endometrial receptivity, embryo implantation, endometriosis and adenomyosis among others.

 

Innovative aspects

The aim is to challenge current beliefs and practices, and provide in-depth debates including on how to improve embryo implantation, the use of hysteroscopy in IVF and of immunological interventions.
