Course description

This advanced course offers a comprehensive overview of the safety aspects surrounding ART. Participants will explore a range of topics including clinical protocols in IVF, third-party reproduction, embryo culture, factors influencing infertility, genetics, psychology, and ethics. The workshop aims to equip attendees with valuable insights into health outcomes for ART-conceived children, the effects of various protocols and treatments on obstetric and perinatal results, as well as the long-term safety implications and ethical considerations related to these innovative technologies.

Target audience

Professionals dealing with different aspects of reproductive care, including obstetricians, gynaecologists, embryologists, clinical and laboratory scientists, researchers, geneticists, and psychologists.

Educational needs and expected educational outcomes

The decisions made by ART professionals (both clinicians and embryologists) about treatment strategies, approaches, or protocols can have short, medium, or long-term consequences. This course aims to provide attendees with the knowledge to distinguish between fact and fiction. They will also be updated on best practice in ART to prevent or limit the putative impact on implantation, early pregnancy and long-term follow-up of newborns.

Innovative aspects of the course

The course will gather experts in the field to discuss the controversial aspects of their practice and the impact. Both specific and general aspects and techniques will be covered with topics including infertility, nutrition, and psychology.
