Course description

Although ART methods are widely used, success rates are not high and the majority of treatments are unsuccessful. This course will present a comprehensive view into optimizing clinical and laboratory procedures using classical and modern medical techniques. Team management and uses of nationwide database data will be presented in a pragmatic manner as some of the essential tools behing any successful ART programme. The course will also cover patient expectation and needs, together with a critical appraising of communication skills and delivering bad news. Finally, we will explore current issues in a round table featuring a panel of experts.

Reproductive endocrinologists, embryologists, quality/laboratory/clinic managers, residents

 

Educational needs and expected outcomes

This course fills the need for a comprehensive course featuring a crossover of laboratory, clinical, managerial and psychological topics in a modern layout.

Attendees will better understand current clinical and laboratory work optimization options, both using traditional methods and use of cutting-edge techniques. Special emphasis will be given on how to optimize team work, look for errors and analyse complications, why to perform a review and what to learn from annual data review. Finally, there will be in-depth presentation of patient needs and communication content.
