Gene dysregulation was observed for meyhtlation regulators including DNMTs, chromatin modifying regulators and a post‐ translational modifier (PRMT5)
McCallie et al, 2016 Plos One 15
What we learned......
• Trisomy blastocysts have no global methylation alterations and are similar to euploid blastocysts.
• Monosomy blastocysts have decreased methylation compared to euploid but only in the chromosome involved in the error.
• Gene dysregulation was observed for monosomy blastocysts within significant regions of hypo‐methylation, as well as for methylation regulators (p<0.05).
What’s next?
• Global transcriptome alterations in monosomy or trisomy blastocysts?
• Impacted biological pathways?
