Sperm preparation in the laboratory
Simple dilution and washing technique
• This technique uses dilution and centrifugation.
• A wash solution containing antibiotics and protein
supplements is added to the ejaculate
• After repeated centrifugation (2‐3) at 300‐500g the seminal fluid is eliminated from the sample and the sperm cells are concentrated for insemination.
