Oxidative Stress Epigenesis
Oxidative stress: Affects DNA, RNA, proteins, Lipids
– Imbalance between between free radicals ((ROS° OH°, H202, O2‐) and their scavengers :Glutathione, Hypotaurine, CoQ10, and various enzymes such as catalase and SODs
– ROS° are generated by endogenous metabolism (mitochondria)
– But
– The main sources are exogenous:
• Pollution:pesticides....
• Food (Junk) via the lipid peroxides
• Recreative drugs: Cannabinoids, cocaine, opiates. Amphetamines: Nitrosamine Stress
• Smoking, Alcohol
• Plastics(Phtalates)andCosmetics.Glycolsether(formglycol-aldehyde
highly reactive), Shampoo, Perfumes
• House keeping products
