Why are we interested in Androgens in ART?
Accumulation of androgens in the micro milieu of the primate ovary is critical
in early follicular development and granulosa cell proliferation Weil et al., 1998
Increase the number of preantral and antral follicles Hillier et al., 1997; Weil et al., 1998
augment FSH receptor expression in granulosa cells
and therefore responsiveness of ovaries to FSH Hillier and De Zwart, 1981; Vendola et al., 1998
