Conclusions
 CASA has enormous potential for human clinical analyses
 Traditional human semen analysis has very little prognostic value
for success, so we should assess sperm function.
 We should not use CASA for applications that are inherently problematic for the underlying technology, and focus on what it CAN do.
 CASA for clinical sperm analysis:
Concentration of seminal sperm with mucus‐penetrating kinematics
 Washed sperm preparation analysis: Concentration and motility classes.
 Fertilizing ability: Evaluate sperm hyperactivation, an ability that is essential for fertilization, both in vivo and in vitro.
 Emerging tests: Morphology, vitality, acrosome reaction, DNA fragmentation, etc
