Morphology / morphometry
 Early versions: sperm head morphometry only using fixed and stained preparations
 Some CASA instruments perform morphometry on live, unstained cells (low magnification)
 Others support midpiece and tail assessment, as well as TZI calculation; fixed preparations utilizing a range of morphology stains
 Automated morphology systems await formal validation against reference methodologies
