 Including debris as spurious sperm heads: can increase concentration and decrease % motile and % progressive
 Rejecting clumped (usually dead) sperm that digitize as a contiguous object that is “too big” to be a sperm: can reduce concentration and increase % motile and % progressive
 “Stirred” immotile sperm (real or spurious): can increase % motility, and decrease % progressive
 Tracking of sperm through collisions (real or perceived) can cause track fragmentation: can increase concentration and increase % motile and % progressive
