Progestins
• Either MPA or MA can be used: – limited,inconsistentdata
– but same efficiency72 – 78%
– daily administration rather than cyclic (more effective)
• LNG‐IUD maybe equally effective: – similarremission&recurrencerate

Progestins
• Doses of progestins:
1. MPA 400–600 mg/day
2. MA; 160–320 mg/day
– lowest effective dosage as possibledue to side effects
• Reasonable time for response: 6 months
• Treatment > 6 months in order to achieve “late response” is
not recommended
• < 6 months follow‐up of response is unnecessary
