• I think we’re very lucky that she is in a school environment that tends to be very open, inclusive, embracing of diversity. I think at her school there are 10 or 20 nationalities and we’re sitting in the capital of the city and I think at least last year, some of the parents and staff marched in the gay pride parade, which went by her school. So the school’s very inclusive and reaches out to gay parents, which I think creates a better environment for [the child].

• People are supportive. People see a happy child and it is sort the great equalizer, in a way.
