Conclusions
• Optimization of culture media formulations by continued exploration into gamete and embryo phsiology is of critical importance for the success of ART
• However, what’s evident is that media are but only one aspect of the embryo culture system, which comprises other factors, both chemical and physical
• One of the MOST important tasks of an embryologist is to be conscious of how human gametes and embryos can be sensitive to such factors, and thus have an adequate QC&QA program in place for optimizing performance and successfully maintain high pregnancy outcome
