Key Points 3
Several SNP’s in the FSH Receptor do have some functional effects on FSH and LH serum levels
The least sensitive FSH Receptor is associated with higher endogenous FSH levels and with a longer
follicular phase length and hence with longer menstrual cycle length
The least sensitive FSH receptor is also associated with an increased number of antral follicles
FSH-β chain SNP’s are also associated with differences in FSH serum levels
FSH-β chain SNP’s have a different distribution amongst different groups of infertile women
FSH-β chain SNP’s are also associated with differences in AFC and AMH serum levels
FSH-β chain SNP’s are associated with time to pregnancy
FSH Receptor as well as FSH-β chain SNP’s seem to enhance each other effects in case the least frequent alleles are appearing together
