Rodent models: common features with humans
Rodents and human share many common features of implantation:
• implantation at the blastocyst stage
• a restricted window of endometrial receptivity
• extensive stromal differentiation, development of decidual tissue
• invasion of the embryo into the stromal bed
• hemochorial placentation
