COURSE 2
Sunday, 14 June I Room: Rodin +Wright (Myriad Crystal Center) Keep the sperm in mind when perfecting ART:
news and perspectives in spermatology
Organised by the Special Interest Group Andrology
COURSE COORDINATORS: Stefan Schlatt (Germany) and Victoria Sanchez (Spain)
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This basic course will provide clinical and translational aspects of spermatology in the light of assisted fertilization techniques. General aspects of sperm biology will be matched with modern strategies for sperm analysis and in vitro sperm production. A critical evaluation of tools and endpoints used for evaluation of sperm quality will also be provided.
TARGET AUDIENCE: Clinicians and scientists in the field of andrology and assisted fertilization. The course will be also valuable for embryologists and ART technicians.
EDUCATIONAL NEEDS AND EXPECTED OUTCOMES: Medical doctors, ART specialists and scientists should be aware of sperm biology and function and also know about new strategies and options in spermatology. We have contacted specialists (scientists and clinicians) to propose topics and we incorporated these suggestions to compile this program. It is expected that this educational course provides impact in knowledge, skills, attitudes or behaviour to improve
a doctor’s practice.
