• What type of content is or is not acceptable for publication • Scope
• Guidelines on what constitutes authorship and how proposed changes to authorships is handled • Inclusion of the necessary ethical statements if required
Committee in publication ethics (COPE)
• Established in 1997 by a small group of medical journal editors
• A word‐wide multidiciplinary group comprising more than 8000 members
