Present Guidelines
• Consensus: genetic evaluation of gamete donors through medical & family history.
• Dissensus: genetic testing of gamete donors.
– Karyotypingrequired(France‐CECOSwebsite),recommended(UK 2008/2019), optional (ASRM 2013), not recommended (Germany 2006; Netherlands 2016).
– FragileXcarrierstatus:testingoocytedonors“canbeconsideredbutnot required” (ASRM 2013); no such recommendation in European guidelines.
– Carrierstatusautosomalrecessivedisorders(ARD):inlinewith recommendations for general population (ASRM 2013); prevalent in donor’s ethnic background (EU directive 2006; ASRM 2013).
Practice
• Companies & clinics (depending on the health care setting) go beyond recommended testing.
