• Semen analysis has always been a blunt instrument
• WHO 2010 has reduced the criteria for normality
• Fertile men can have poor semen analysis
• 25‐30% of idiopathic couples have normal semen analysis
• Sperm DNA has much lower coefficients of variation
• Sperm DNA has high repeatability within and between spermatogenic cycles
