Alessandra Alteri obtained her PhD in Cellular Biology and Development at the University of Rome “Sapienza” in 2010 and conducted her postdoctoral fellowship at the Skeletal Muscle Development and Therapy Laboratory of the San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan. Since 2012 she has been working as an embryologist: from 2012 to 2014 at FertiClinic in Rome where she developed competence in the treatment of serodiscordant couples and in the management of viral diseases in the IVF field. Since 2015, she is working as Clinical Embryologist at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan and her current areas of interest include the quality and risk management in the IVF laboratory, with particular attention to the traceability of reproductive cells. In 2015 she obtained the ESHRE Certification of Clinical Embryologist. In 2016, she has participated to the application and then to the publication of a failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) aimed at identifying possible failures of the work processes. This application has been acquired by the European Quality System PaSQ as a good practice. She has participated to three courses organized by the Italian National Transplant Centre about risk analysis and management in the IVF laboratory and application of the minimum standards based on European directives.
She is author of five publication:
