Course description
This course will cover the wide scope of current practice in FP, highlighting some of the key issues and addressing areas where there are gaps in our understanding of how best to organise and provide an effective service.
Target audience
All involved in fertility preservation: clinicians, nurses, embryologists, scientists, counsellors
Educational needs and expected outcomes
A needs assessment for this course identified that this is a rapidly changing area of medical practice with wide variation in practice between centres and countries. There is a lack of European guidelines on this subject, though this is in development, and US-based guidlelines have recently been updated.
There is thus a strong need for educational events to discuss, inform and support best clinical practice and identify the main areas where further research and development is needed.
