Course description
Clinical applications using stem cell-derived cells in regenerative medicine are adressing
a wide spectrum of conditions using a variety of stem cell types. Currently, there are several clinical trials ongoing using stem cells for the treatment of some diseases, also
in reproductive medicine. The present Precongress Course will focus on the (i) quality requirements that are necessary for stem cell based applications, (ii) the progress of actual treatments for problems releated to the reproductive field and (iii) the recent breakthroughs of clinical applications of differentiated cells derived from human pluripotent stem cells.
Target audience
Embryologists, stem cell researchers, reproductive genetic researchers, clinicians
Educational needs and expected outcomes
• review the quality requirements that are necessary for stem cell based applications
• discuss the progress of actual treatments for problems related to the reproductive field
• debate the recent breakthroughs of clinical applications of differentiated cells derived from human iPS cells
