INTRODUCTION
• After more than 3 decades of assisted reproductive techniques, we still cannot improve very much the impantation rate- mainly because of the endometrial receptivity (upto 2/3 of failures)
• There are 3 factors involved in succesful implantation:
• The endometrium in the „window of implantation”
• A normally developed embryo in blastocyst stage
• Synhronised dialogue between the maternal and fetal tissues
• Endometrial receptivity: the complex changes of the endometrium (and the adjacent internal myometrial layer) involving tissue, cellular and molecular factors (adhesivity factors, loss of inhibitory surface elements, factors like cytokines, lipids etc)
THE USE OF HYSTEROSCOPY IN ART PATIENTS
• Endometrial impaired receptivity • Endometritis
• Endometrial hyperplasia
• Intrauterine adhesions
• Endometrial polyps
• Uterine niche/ isthmocele • And other pathologies...
