Improving endometrial receptivity: Summary
• Plethora of interventions
• Conflicting evidence regarding impact of fibroids
• Insufficient evidence for surgical treatment for fibroids
• No benefit of routine hysteroscopy
• Insufficient evidence for aspirin, heparin, steroids, immunoglobulins
• Endometrial thickness poor predictor of IVF success
• Endometrial scratch effective in previous failed implantation but further evidence needed to support use in all women
• Elective freezing and deferred embryo transfer effective in some women but insufficient evidence for universal use
• Association between embryo freezing and birthweight
• Need for robust randomised trials
• Meanwhile, need to balance potential advantage of interventions vs risks and costs
