Professor Trine Haugen
Professor, PhD – Leader of the Research Group “Male Reproductive Health”, Oslo Metropolitan University, Norway
“For most of my career, I have focused on andrology – male reproduction. Recently, I have started collaborating with researchers working on assisted reproduction and artificial intelligence. We are combining our knowledge from these three different fields, and it has pushed each of us to learn more about the other topics. Working in such an interdisciplinary way is very popular right now, and there are many governmental incentives for it. But it is also challenging to really work interdisciplinary, a prerequisite to understand another field. Often it ends up that researchers in different areas tend to work in parallel. That’s why it’s great for us to come together at this meeting, so that the guys working in artificial intelligence can really understand what this field is all about. I guess it’s up for me to go to an AI conference next!”
